From the profit or loss of price move times lots, subtract the spread and commission and add cashback to get your net result. You can also see how much cashback reduces the loss on a losing trade.

Formula

ItemExpression
Profit or loss from the price movePrice move (pips) × value of 1 pip × lots
CostSpread (pips) × value of 1 pip × lots + round-turn commission (USD) × USD/JPY × lots
Net profit or lossProfit or loss from the price move − cost + cashback (USD) × USD/JPY × lots

The value of 1 pip is calculated as 1,000 yen per lot for yen crosses and 10 USD per lot for USD pairs.

Profit and loss are not decided by the price move alone

Even if you capture 10 pips on the chart, your net result shrinks after subtracting a 1.2-pip spread and commission. Conversely, even a losing trade earns cashback, so your effective loss is smaller.

This tool calculates the amount you actually keep from one trade as "price move − cost + cashback".

When cashback makes a difference

Cashback is determined by trading volume regardless of whether you win or lose. The more you trade, the larger the monthly total.

  • A winning trade of 10 pips: your net result rises by the amount the cost is reduced
  • A losing trade of 10 pips: your loss shrinks by the cashback amount
  • If the round-turn volume is the same, the amount returned is the same for either trade

Points to note

Swap (the interest adjustment for holding overnight) is not included. Confirmed cashback values will be published on each broker page at launch.

FAQ

Q.Do losing trades also earn cashback?

Yes. Cashback is determined by trading volume, so the same amount comes back even on a losing trade, which reduces your effective loss.

Q.Is swap included?

No. Swap is added or deducted on positions held overnight, so check it separately in your broker's instrument specifications.

Q.I don't know the cashback amount.

Confirmed values for each broker will be published on the broker pages at launch. Until then, estimate with a provisional value.
